A Longer History

THE PROFESSIONAL SIDE

Betsy was born in Hong Kong and raised in the City of Angels. After graduating from college in LA with a communication & marketing degree, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in children’s book publishing. There, she found her love for writing and matcha latte. Two years later, Betsy was accepted to graduate school in London for a master of arts in Creative Writing, with an emphasis in Fiction for Young Readers. Her dissertation topic was titled “The Role of Transcultural Narrative on the Identity Formation of Early Readers”. She graduated from the program with distinction. Currently, she is researching on the representation of girls and girlhood in young adult fantasy fiction within the theoretical framework of ecofeminism for her PhD degree in Hong Kong.

CALl TO NATURE

With the desire to authenticate her creative experiences, she spent two months in Bali, where she completed her 500-hour yoga instructor training. The new perspective guided her onto the path of entrepreneurship, which took her across 3 countries and 12 cities within a year, in search for the best teas that make you feel and look beautiful. Two years since conception, Betsy launched her lifestyle brand in the US in October 2019.

WORK HARD, PLAY HARDER

She continues to write and read extensively with a teacup in one hand and spreadsheets in the other. In her free time, Betsy enjoys drinking tea, baking treats, and snuggling with her flurry best friend Bailey on a couch, usually with an intriguing book in her hands.
